Lake Beauclair, Lake Carlton & Sunset Guided Tour

This tour is available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings March through October. We are closed on Tuesday.

Mount Dora is famous for it's sunsets and their is no better vantage point than Lake Dora itself. The Lake Beauclair, Lake Carlton & Sunset Guided Tour leaves the docks 1-1/2 hours before sunset. Join us on this 1-1/2 hour adventure into Lake Beauclair, Lake Carlton and along the Lake Dora shoreline to view a stunning sunset. Sunset viewing is always weather dependent.

This tour price has a built-in $10.00 savings with unassisted online booking. With unassisted online booking the cost of the tour is $160.00 per boat ($80.00 per person) plus tax and includes up to two people and a 90 minuted guided tour.(Gratuities not included). The cost of the tour if booking by phone through our reservation agent is $170.00 plus tax per boat.

Boat operators must be 18 years of age and possess a valid Florida Boating Safety Education Identification Card if born on or after January 1st, 1988. Boating cards or licenses from other states may be reciprocal.

CatBoat Tours will provide you with:

  • Small cooler for your water or soft drink. (ice not included)

  • Adventure and sightseeing

No boating experience necessary.

Instruction will be given before the tour leaves the dock.



Important: Depending on the weather you may get wet. It is rare but the weather may change while we are on tour. Please dress accordingly. Boating shoes or non-marking soft soled shoes or sandals are recommended.

Customers may bring the following items:

  • Camera
  • Additional non-alcoholic beverages
  • Sun Block
  • Proper clothing for boating (Please dress according to the weather)
  • Sunglasses

If the tour has not been paid for or scheduled you must call and schedule a tour at one of the available times or dates or at a custom time we will arrange with you. Custom tours apply to groups of eight or more only.

Our tours run every day of the week except Tuesday. We are closed on Tuesday for boat maintenance. (or at custom times for groups of four or more by calling (352) 325-1442

Rules of the tour

The tour is paid in full at the time of the reservation. All sales are FINAL! In the event of a canceled tour due to weather you will be rescheduled or provided with a gift certificate to use at anytime in the future.

Boats may only be driven by the designated driver(s) on the contract. In order to operate a motorboat of ten (10) horsepower or greater, Florida law requires anyone who was born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 to successfully complete an approved boating safety course and obtain a Boating Safety Education Identification Card issued by the FWC. Florida does not have a "boating license." If you were born prior to January 1, 1988 you may operate a boat in Florida without a Boating Safety Education I.D. Card but we highly recommend you complete the course and obtain your I.D. Card.
